Amanda E. Montgomery, 36, of Boyers, Pennsylvania, died after being involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Venango Township on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Her death has left family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Slippery Rock University community mourning her sudden passing.
The collision happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the 300 block of Eau Claire Road, near 318 Eau Claire Road. Pennsylvania State Police said a GMC Acadia traveling westbound crossed the center line and entered the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with a Ford F-150.
Montgomery was a passenger in the GMC and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old driver of the Acadia was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for treatment. The driver of the pickup, identified as 50-year-old Rebecca L. Rodgers of Slippery Rock, and a 3-year-old passenger were also taken to the hospital.
